Telescopes and instrumentations
scientific informations for the observers
The Asiago highland hosts the observing facilities operated by INAF Astronomical Observatory of Padova atop of Mount Ekar (1376m a.s.l.), the Copernico 1.82m telescope and the Schmidt 67/92 telescope. The Copernico 1.82m telescope represents the largest optical telescope in Italy and is open to the international community of scientists who can submit their observing Large and/or Small proposals (for imaging, low-to-high resolution spectrograph and polarimetry) to the INAF OAPd time allocation committee. The Schmidt 67/92 is a fully robotic, large field (originally 5.1x5.1 deg on plates, actually 1x1 deg on CCD) telescope.
